We're heading out for the camp ground. I'm not certain what this place is going to be like but from the description, I think we'll be roughing it.
It's hard for me to imagine that a place that's only 40 miles away from here has only 1 tree. We have trees everywhere. This is not a desert. The last time I looked at a map of Florida, there were no deserts. How can there be no trees?
Fortunately, it's supposed to be cooler than it has been recently. Last week-end, it was in the 90's and our air conditioning went out. What a nightmare! We went round and round with the ONLY guy on duty with our home warranty company. He would not call anyone to repair it because, according to the website he was looking at it was only 88 degrees here. It was 98 in our house and the dew point was 72. We were miserable but thanks to a few calls to the president and our realtor who remains a good friend (and who made a few calls of her own), the home warranty company now has new policies for their week-end staff.
Anyway, I'm ever so much more grateful for our troops who live under extreme conditions for very long periods of time. It doesn't take much for us to see how fortunate we really are.
Have a great week-end!
