Which One?

My son swears to me that he has seen at least 200 different license plates since we left Michigan. Most of them have been in Florida. I know my son exaggerates. He gets that from his father. But, Florida does seem to have an endless supply of choices for your license plate. There’s the standard plate that has the state outline with an orange in front of it. There’s the custom plate where you select the letters and numbers to say something and then there are 110 others. I’m not exaggerating. In addition to the plate for historic cars, there are:

With so many to choose from, the decision isn't so easy. My husband wants the Save Our Seas plate that looks like this one.

He likes the shark on it and that he can support the preservation of the oceans is a big plus as well. I’m leaning towards the Aquaculture one here.

Aquaculture is where researchers try to cultivate things from the sea in hopes of finding cures for any number of diseases or conditions like blindness, arthritis or cancer. This is done in a way that is as environmentally sound and economically feasible as possible. In other words, instead of harvesting millions of anemones (or some other thing from the sea), they take a part of it and cultivate it much like they grow skin cells for grafts for burn victims. This way, they get the amount they need without needlessly killing high numbers of animals or plants. I think this is a worthy cause and I hope and pray they are successful.

Ileana, You have a dilema...if the car is driven mostly by your husband then my vote is for the shark. IF on the otherhand it is mostly by you by all means the clownfish. You could also always compromise and whichever sea life is not chosen on the plate can be cut out on vinyl and put on the window so everyone gets a say!

Ileana,

I would get the shark in a heart beat. I am so facinated by those animals. No, I do not ever wish to meet one face to face. My son also loves sharks. We watch shark week every year on the discovery channel.

I really like the clown fish one! I am a sucker for tropical fish though. I miss the fish tank we used to have but I don't miss cleaning it! How great of you to donate to such a worthy cause! Oh and I like Eddita's idea about the vinyl also!

Eddita does have a good idea... I like the Clown Fish (Nemo!) both are nice. Am amazed at how many different plates you all have in that state.

Your right, we do have a lot of tag options here in Sunny Florida. I love some of our tags, but I have to tag,4 cars, a boat, Motorcycle and a trailor, SO they all get the plain standard tags. LOL!

Good luck with your decision, they are great causes.
