So today was supposed to be a relatively quiet day topped off with some creative time to spice it up a little. Nope. Not happening.
I did have one early afternoon errand to run--an annual check-up and shots for the small pup. Yes, this little, quirky one who likes to lick the air and stand between our legs if we stand still for longer than a few seconds:
His quirky little body had other plans for my day. See:
That huge snout is the evidence of an allergic reaction to the vaccines he got just a couple of hours previously. Yep, I was only supposed to take him to the vet once today. Going twice was more excitement than I'd like to have again.
The bad news is that we have to watch him for the next day or so and, from here on out, he has to take a shot of benadryl and another injection of steroids before he gets any more vaccinations. The good news is his nose is nearly normal size now and he'll be just fine. Nothing like scaring the mama and two kiddos with some extra drama, though.
Even the vet said that he is a dramatic puppy. This is because he SCREAMED like a baby (yes, a human child!) at every procedure from getting his temperature taken to his heart worm test to every single injection--all 4 of them.
Yet, he's enjoying the extra love and attention tonight--the poor baby.
Here's to a healthy dog, a more creative tomorrow, and less excitement for all of us!
Until next time, may your creative time be free from swelling and itching too!
