Congratulations & More

I hope you had a fabulous Mother's Day and a great week-end too.

We did.  We enjoyed a nice morning at home, followed by an amazing experience feeding the homeless and then we closed out the day with church.

Our short time out in downtown Tampa was a great learning experience for all of us.  Was it all rosy and perfect?  Nope.  Far from it.

It wasn't long after our arrival that a fight broke out.  It was mostly verbal and then turned slightly violent.  Fortunately, no one was badly hurt and it did give us the opportunity to reiterate to our children that it is never okay for a man to hit or push a woman.

Then, at our second stop, a guy we had never seen before came up to thank us.  He told us he had just been praying that he could find food and be able to eat at least one meal yesterday.  He had just finished his prayer when we showed up.  Isn't it amazing how God can work?

Finally, at our fourth stop, a man who was saying grace for everyone started to tear up.  He was so thankful for the beautiful day and for those of us who would bring him food.  He's a US Veteran whose food stamps had been stolen and he was just so very grateful for a simple sandwich and a bottle of water.

It just goes to show, you never know when your small kindness can make a huge difference in someone's life.

Speaking of small kindnesses, I'd like to congratulate:

Sounds like you had another busy weekend. We took a road trip to see my son and then on another 1-1/2 hours to see my motherinlaw for mothers day. Then the 4 hour trip home. Very enjoyable.
