Why Is It . . .?

Why is it, when you only have fifteen minutes to get ready and get out the door, your kids decide to spill green paint on the tan carpet? Oh, I wish I was kidding! So, now you know what I'll be doing tomorrow. LOL! Anybody got any magic secrets to getting what's left of some green paint out of carpeting? Bring on the tips, 'cause I could sure use them!!!

I guess I should say we do own a Bissell carpet cleaner and Bryan used it to get up most of the paint. (Yes, I married a true manly, man who helps with the house-work!!! Besides, he got home sooner than I did tonight!) We've been using the machine with just plain cold water as we didn't want the paint to set by adding other chemicals. But, maybe you know of some magic formula? Seriously, I'd love to hear about it if you do.

I also got to squeeze in some awesome designing time today. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it cuts well as you just might be receiving this file this coming week-end! LOL!

Until next time, Happy Creative Time!

Not sure what kind of paint was spilled, but I spilled a gallon of pink latex paint on DD's brand new bedspread--GASP!--but fortunately I got most of it out with rubbing alcohol. Also, pure (filtered) water with ivory soap can go a long way, too. Good luck!

I did a search on "getting paint out of carpeting" and that came up with anything from Oxiclean to Dawn dish soap to Vodka! Hope this helps and it ALL comes out!

When I had cream carpet laid they got grease on it as they were leaving and used mineral spirits to clean it up. I have also used club soda at times too.

We have a store here called Dollar Tree. There is a spray product you can buy there called Awesome. I use it for everything. I've used it on carpet stains before & it was great. DD was about 3, she took a blue ink pen to my white leather couch...grabbed the awesome & no more stains! You may want to try this. Good luck!

My sister was able to get red fingernail polish out of her brand new light colored carpet with a solution of boiling water and oxyclean and clean rags soaking it up. I use hot hot tap water with oxyclean to get stains out of my kids clothes all the time. Good Luck.

I am not sure where you live, but if you have a Hobby Lobby near you I recommend you get the 'Grandma's Secret Spot Remover' solution stuff. It says it takes out everything, and it does. We had a friend's daughter dump the RED Testors model paint out onto our dark blue couch and it sat (because nothing worked to get it out) for a couple of weeks while we tried to figure out what to do. Then we found that bottle I tried it. I saturated the area with water first, then sprayed in that stuff then sucked it up with our vacuum (which is essentially a shop vac and takes liquids no problem) and repeated for about 30 minutes worth of work and it is gone. 100% gone, and our couch is well textured similar to a low pile carpet so I imagine it should work. If you do not have Hobby Lobby, the website on the bottle is www.grandmassoap.com HTH, and good luck!
