Toys?

I really enjoyed learning what kind of books you all like to read. I think it's kind of funny that I finished reading The Shack a few weeks ago and had just passed the book onto my neighbor when all the comments about it started coming in. LOL!

Because I spent a large part of today going through my kids' toys, I'd like to hear about some of yours. What did you play with when you were small? What kinds of games were your favorite?

I've kept a few of my kids' baby toys because there might be guests who'll visit us who will have small ones. I have a big problem with this though. My kids, who are 8 and almost 10 years old, love those few baby toys I've kept. They won't leave them alone. Go figure. LOL!

So, what about you and your children's toys? What were your favorites?

Happy Scrapping!

Toys as a kid well
one of our favourites was made by my Dad a set of wooden blocks- Maple wood in a box - the blocks were about 3.5" long x 2" and .5" thick
so basically a rectangle- The all stacked in the box so you knew they were all there- but we could build anything from it - from towers which we would push over when built - to crash. to dolls furniture to car garages for "dinky" car (loved those too) to a hamster maze when we got older -Dad made a set for each of the grandkids families - ours is in my office for little kids to play with.

My other favourite thing - not really a toy but in the summer it was the swing in the tree and the tree of course (climbing)

Oh I forgot to add - with your kids the kiddy toys are still part of their memories. Catch a picture of them with the toys and if you have a picture of them younger with the toy well might be a page

We had wooden blocks kids that Dad had made as well :) Mum made a huge duffle bag, (drawstring tube shaped) to keep them in. I wanted a train set but as a girl missed out, but my brother got one. Dad made up for it though as he gave me his train set that was his as a child and not my brother, how lucky am I?? :) My kids love playing with the baby toys. We had a lot of them as I was doing childcare for a few yrs, and it was always a bit of a battle to get the older children to let the little ones play LOL

Lego, blocks, train sets and books are all our family favourites! and even though I had 4 girls and 1 boy, dolls were my thing not the kids LOL

cheers, caz
