It's getting to be that time of the month again. (I know what you're thinking. Not that time of the month. I wouldn't blog about that! LOL!) When my husband asks for his monthly haircut, I know his Air Force week-end is quickly approaching. There's nothing I can do but grab the clippers and have at it. My husband knows, though, that he has to get it all ready and he'd better do it right. He's already paid the price for his "free" haircut.
If you've been following my blog, you've seen a picture of my husband and know that he is, well, he's bald on top. This makes cutting his hair fairly easy. I buzz him on three sides with the clippers, trim around his ears and across the back with scissors, shave his neck and I'm done and he meets the military reg.
Well, in our BC years (before children), he asked me if I would cut his hair and told me he had it all ready. I grabbed the clippers and had at it. One pass and I came to a screeching halt.
Me: "Um, Dear? Um, you have a bald spot."
Him: "No kidding. Very funny!"
Me: "Um. Uh, no Dear. You have a bald spot."
Him: "I know."
Me: "Uh, no. You have another bald spot."
Him: "What? What guide are you using? Let me see." (grabbing the clippers and jumping up to look in the mirror.)
Him: "There's NO guide on this! How could you cut my hair without a guide?"
Me "Me?! You told me everything was all ready! I just picked it up and started cutting. I'm sorry. You told me everything was ready."
That was the shortest haircut I have ever given him. I had to get up at the crack of dark-thirty to put mascara on his new bald spot. To this day, I still hear how "I" didn't put a guide on the clippers and I still remind him he said it was all ready. You know what, though? Now, he makes sure the guide is on there each and every time. LOL! Want a haircut?

Shhhhh.... don't tell your husband, but I'm sitting here laughing and can't stop! Mine never trusted me to begin with on giving him a hair cut, but did let me shave the hair off the back of his neck. (not much there but he wanted to make sure all was perfect)
Thanks for the laugh!!! This would be a good one for Readers Digest In the Military blogs. (love reading these) Deb
