Frustrated

Please excuse my soap box post but I am sure I'm not the only one feeling that there have been more than enough frustrating things going on this week.  Don't you think?

Yes, my husband who has spent his entire adult life in service to our country has been furloughed.  Yes, I really do love having him around the house but seriously, that paycheck is rather important.

Add to that fact is that elderly men who were willing to give up everything in service to our country were barred from visiting war memorials and had to break down those barricades.

Then, to realize those same memorials had more security in a government shutdown than our ambassador and his staff had at Benghazi . . .

And now, military priests--yes, the very same men who put their lives on the line to bring comfort and celebrations of faith to our troops--are being threatened with arrest should they exercise religious freedoms including offering last rites and the mass during the shutdown . . .

Then there's the girl who may be denied life-saving cancer treatment because of the shutdown.

Oh, and there's the crack by the tv reporter who insinuated that since only non-essential employees and services will be affected by the shutdown, all non-essential employees and programs should be permanently cut from the government budget.

Finally, all the people who are directly responsible for this shutdown are still getting paid!

Yeah, I'm frustrated.  And now I'll step down off my soap box and try to get something more creative done while I practice calming breathing techniques.  In. . . . Out. . . . In . . . Out . . .

Until next time, may your creative time be filled with peace.

I absolutely agree, Ileana!!! This is so wrong. And Harry Reid, don't eve get me started! Why would he want to help, "even one child with cancer"! Talk about wasting money, these guys are sucking the life out of Americans. And please thank your husband for all he does!!!!

I do hope it is all resolved soon for everyone's sake. Sorry to hear that you have been affected so close to home. I thought banning the War Memorial visit was disgusting!!
