Priorities

We have a busy week going on around here--more busy than usual.  The best part of that--I am reminded once again of how blessed we are.

We always have packed Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Music lessons, Tae Kwon Do, Boy Scouts and Religious Education classes fill those days very nicely.

Normally, by Thursday or Friday, we are very ready for some quiet time at home.  This Thursday, though, Hubby's been invited to an all-guy Bible study, Bryce has an Spring Concert for orchestra class and it is Holy Thursday too--that means we are supposed to be in church because it is the night all the ministries in our church are commissioned.

All I could think was, "Something has got to go!"  Unfortunately, it looked like it was going to be church.  Bryce was very upset at having to take a Zero for a grade should he skip the concert.  I must confess I was a bit hacked off too.  I don't like the idea that we should be forced to decide between our faith and our kids' education.

And, just how is this a blessing?  Well, our kids WANT to go to church.  How cool is that?

So, we will be trying to get out of the concert early and then go to church and if we're late, well, I am sure God will understand.

Guess what?  We get to do the same thing on Friday when the kids are supposed to be in three different places--including church.

So, to celebrate our blessings, how about a trivia contest?

What is "Holy Thursday?"  In other words, what will we be commemorating this Thursday?  (Hint:  commissioning ministries is not going to be accepted as a correct answer.)

The first person with the correct answer will win their choice of a free file and, as usual, all those who guess will be entered into a random drawing for another free file.

Until next time, Happy Creative Time!

Wow, your family sure does keep busy.

Maundy Thursday ("Holy Thursday") is a holiday the Thursday before Easter, commemorating Jesus Christ's Last Supper and his washing of his disciples' feet.

You are a very busy family, but with 5 kids of my own I experience the same thing so I know exactly what you are dealing with. We just had to make a choice between our son attending the Eagle Scout Banquet (honoring him for becoming an Eagle Scout) or the National Honor Society Induction both at the same time next week. We wanted to attend both, but had to choose the NHS Ceremony or he would be kicked out if he missed it whereas he would not lose his Eagle Scout Award. I don't like situations like this.

Holy Thursday is the day that Christ celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples, four days after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.
