Dove Chain

Congratulations to Kelly S for being the first one with the correct answer on what "Advent" means and to:

for winning the random drawing.

If you two lovely ladies would email me at ijr41ug @ yahoo.com or iscrapdesigns @ gmail.com (please take out the spaces) with your choice of a free file and I'll send it out to you asap.

Advent does mean “coming.”  It marks the beginning of our liturgical year and it’s a time for us to prepare for Christmas and to improve our relationship with God.  It also helps us keep the focus on the real meaning of the season.

For most adults who celebrate Advent, it is a time of prayer and meditation.  For those of us with children, it can be a bit of a challenge but there are many ways we can share this season with our kids and help them learn some valuable lessons too.

And I have a special free file for you today that will help with that.

Do you remember those paper chains we made as kids?  I’m referring to the ones where strips of paper formed the links and helped us to count down to Christmas or decorated our trees and kept us busy too.  Well, here is my twist on one of those chains.

Instead of counting days, with "Dove Chain," we can string our prayers together.  The point is for each person in the family to add a prayer each day.  These can be written on the doves or just use the mat.  By Christmas, you’ll have a nice garland you can use to decorate your tree or hang around your home.

But, "Dove Chain" can be used for other things too.  It would look great as a decoration for a Confirmation party, a wedding or as a visible sign of your church’s prayer chain.  For example, if a friend is in the hospital, every person who is praying for them can sign a dove and then the chain can be included in a “Thinking of You” card.

Whether or not you use this file during your holiday preparations, it is my sincere hope that this season will be happy and peaceful for you and your family.

And now for the small print.  While this file is offered freely here, it is still governed by my Terms of Use.  Thank you so much for recommending my blog to your friends so that they may download the file for themselves.  The links to this file will expire on Sunday when it will be on its way to the I Scrap Designs store at VDBC.  The password is iagreetotou (no capitals, no spaces and no punctuation).

Sorry, these links have expired.  Please look for this and other fun files in the
