I had fun with these trivia questions and I hope you did too. It was hard deciding which questions to use so, maybe I'll have to save the other questions I had for next year. What do you think?
As for my family and Christmas, it's going to be fairly simple this year. We are staying home this year and none of our family are coming to visit. It's just going to be the four of us.
We've decided we'll have our dinner tomorrow and open some presents then too. Christmas day, we'll go to church and then head downtown to feed about 125 homeless people. We are sooooo looking forward to playing Santa down there. We've got loads of pop tarts to pass out as well as hats, gloves, socks, underwear and tiny radios too. Others from our group are bringing blankets, pizza and soda. It's sure to be a blast!
Speaking of simple, our kiddos really only asked for one thing this year: a zip line.

Now, I know that trampoline is bound to bring up a few questions so I will explain it. First, we bought the house that way. Even though it is a cool idea, we can't take credit for it. How do you do get an in-ground trampoline? Well, first cut off the legs of the trampoline so they are only half the height of a normal trampoline. Then, dig a hole that is the diameter of your trampoline and half the depth around the outer circle but as deep as a normal trampoline in the center. Ours was shored up around the edges with boards and had boards for the legs to sit upon too. Then put your trampoline in the hole.
You will notice that in the video at each end of the zip line was a post to which the line was anchored.
Well, we did the same thing here except we built a platform for the one end that goes over Hubby's new shed. We didn't realize our son would become this:

Seriously, he was NOT hurt and couldn't figure out why he was sitting on the ground instead of zipping along the yard. He's actually pretty proud that he got to play the part of the Crash Test Dummy. LOL!
So, plan B was put into action. The platform is now being converted into a fort or tree house. The kids can't wait to go read books up there. And here is the zip line, safely anchored to our trees:
I think we are now the most popular hang-out place in the neighborhood. Kids of all ages--including adults--have been stopping by to play. I like that because I know exactly where my kids are and what they are doing. So, everyone is happy.

Many years ago we were privileged to be given a very special tour of the Space Center at Cape Canaveral. We got to go up and onto the gantry where the astronauts board the shuttle. We were amazed that the emergency evacuation plan from the gantry tower to the ground for them was....... a zip line!
If you could trust kids to not use them unsupervised, they make a great fire escape method from upper story bedrooms.

We had an inground trampoline for yrs when I was doing Childcare. We dug the most enormous hole and made it ground level, then surrounded the whole thing with a foot of soft fall, had to do this or Family Daycare wouldn't approve my backyard for kids :(
