Advent?

Now that it is December, the countdown to the holidays has begun in earnest.  I know that loads of people are extremely busy getting ready for Christmas and many of us seem to lose the spirit of the season in the process.  That is one reason my family and I celebrate Advent.

So, not to add to your hustle and bustle, but I have a trivia question for you today.

What does the word "Advent" mean?

The first person who comments here with the correct answer will win a free file of their choice and, as usual, everyone who guesses will be entered into a random drawing for another free file.  How cool is that?

Also, make sure you come back tomorrow when I'll describe how we celebrate Advent and have a special free file for you too!

Until then, Happy Creative Time!

Advent (from the Latin word adventus meaning "coming") is a season observed in many Western Christian churches, a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas.

Advent means the preparation of something or the arrival. In Christian faith it means the arrival of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

The word means the coming or the arrival...in my church it is the four weeks before Christmas spent in prayer to prepare for the coming of the Savior. An early Merry Christmas to you!

Ileana- Advent means coming. As someone who is not Christian, I always wondered what this meant and why it was celebrated. You inspired me to look it up and learn something today.
