Caves, Congrats, and More

Congratulations to mitch1066 for being the first one to provide the right answer to last week's contest and to

for winning the random drawing.  If the two of you could please e-mail me at ijr41ug @ yahoo.com (please take out the spaces) with your choice of free file and the format your cutter uses, I'll send you your prizes asap.

Yes, we did visit a cave on our trip.  Specifically,  it was Diamond Caverns in Kentucky.  We've stopped there several times before because the kids like to sift for gems.

We buy a bag of dirt in the gift shop and then take it outside and pour it a little bit at a time into a sifter and then let the water wash away the sand, revealing the gem stones.  The kids really enjoy it and can spend quite a bit of time looking at their treasures as we continue on our trip.

This time, though, the hubby decided to take the kids onto the cave tour.  The last time we did this was at Kartchner Caverns in Arizona and the kiddos were too small to remember it.  So, while I sat outside with our dog, the three kids went on the tour:

where, among other things, they saw draperies and bacon:
Drapery
Bacon
Draperies are rock formations that hang like drapes and bacon is a drape that is colored like bacon.

They also saw pearls and popcorn:

If you'd like to check out some other pictures from Diamond Caverns you can do so here and here are some from Karchner Caverns.

On another note, if you are the praying type, I'd like to ask for your prayers again.  One of Ilaria's Sunday School teachers passed away on Friday.  It was quite sudden and her husband could use all the prayers he can get and then some.  Thanks!

Until next time, Happy Creative Time!

GREAT photos, Ileana! Thanks so much for sharing.

Big time prayers going out to the Sunday School Teacher's husband! How so very sad but at least you know you will see her some day! That's a shame and when it happens suddenly, it's horrific! I'm SO sorry for all!

Really neat pictures Ileana. Love the colors. It would make nice digital papers.
