Getting Things Done

Phew!  Another thing has been crossed off our to-do list for the week.  The pack meeting and the Disability Awareness Belt Loop.

In honor of his grandfather, Bryce made a poster--with the help of a cutter file, of course!  I made him a template for adhering wooden buttons to spell out "Blindness" in braille.  The whole thing turned out pretty cool!  He also ran the Visual Impairment station where each Cub Scout got to pick out clothing and canned food while blindfolded.  I'm sure it helped the boys empathize with those who have to deal with visual impairments on a daily basis.

There were other stations as well.  I didn't get to go visit them as I was recruited to teach American Sign Language.  It's something I haven't studied since I was in high school so I know I was very rusty.  It was fun though and all the boys seemed very excited about learning it.

Oh, and another thing off the to-do list is my weekly free file.  I've been working on it for days.  I actually made FIVE , yes 5 different versions of it before I settled on one I liked.  Lucky for you I did 'cause the hubby said version #3 was good enough!  LOL!  It was good.  It just wasn't as neutral nor as pretty as I was wanting.

So, make sure you stop by tomorrow to grab it.  I'm sure you'll be thankful you did.

Until then, Happy Creative Time!

I would love to see pictures of the poster Bryce made. That is SO clever! It was great of you to help out! ;) I'm glad the boys had a chance to experience what it's like to NOT see. It makes them appreciate the things we take for granted. God bless you all for taking such an interest in your child's activities! YOU ROCK!

And, as far as the freebie...it IS a good thing that YOU decide which of the FIVE are "good enough" to be chosen. It cracked me up when you said your hubby wanted number three to be IT! MEN! They just don't get it, do they!?!!! :) I'm sure he just wanted you to himself instead of you working on the freebie file! AND, may I add that I think you are awesome for doing these freebies each week the entire time (except for ONE short break) you have the membership going on. You're on incredible lady, Ileana! God bless you! LOVE your hint for this one....LOL

Great and fun for the boys. My grandparents were deaf mutes, so it was a struggle for them but they made do. God love strangers and pen and paper.

Since I'm sure to grab your freebie, I'll say thank you now! TY! I love the #5.
