Have you ever heard that on the equinox you can balance an egg on its end? I have not only heard it. I've done it. More than once. I can remember it being a topic of discussion in science classes in school.
Fast forward, oh, about 25 years to today--well, tomorrow actually. The equinox is tomorrow (Thursday). So, are you going to try to balance an egg on end? I dare you to try it. It is possible. It takes a bit of patience and a steady hand; but it can be done. Try it!
Now, for the rest of the story: it's a myth. LOL! Yes, it is possible to balance an egg on its end tomorrow but it's also possible to do that on any day of the year. The equinox has nothing to do with it. LOL! Here's what Snopes has to say about it.
Hmm. Were our teachers trying to pull one over on us or did they just want the peace and quiet they would get from having us try to balance the egg on end? LOL!
