Yes, That's My Truck

There's a new vehicle in my driveway and, yes, it's mine. Not my husband's. LOL! See:

The van was aging very quickly and needed more in repairs than what it was worth so I know it was time. I'm still a bit sad about saying good-bye to it, though. Even my kids were sad to see it go. Yet, we all know it's going to a good cause.

Instead of trying to sell the vehicle on our own, we donated it to Wheels of Success. It's a non-profit organization that helps people much like Habitat for Humanity. The clients must have a job and they either have to pay for at least some of the parts the vehicle would need or they have to perform so many service hours for Wheels of Success. The mechanic's labor is free.

So, my van is going to help some family keep their job and get to the places they need to travel and we get to write off the Blue Book value of the vehicle off our taxes. That's a win-win situation in my book!

If this is something you might be considering, please do your research prior to donating your old vehicle. A lot of places will gladly take your clunker, but they auction it off for the cash and you only get to claim the amount it was auctioned for which might only be $100.

Until next time, Happy Creative Time!

ah very nice
you may find you like it better than a van we changed from vans to an ford explorer and wondered why we didn't do it sooner - it carries just as many people and holds way more cargo if need be with the seats folding down and the explorer so much better on winter roads so have fun with your new truck
