A Quilt?!?

It's kind of funny. Yesterday, I posted about my husband trying to keep the old pool filter from leaking by using duct tape. It was a futile attempt, but it was worth a try. I guess Bryan was taking a tip from Bob, my step-father.

One of Bob's all-time favorite tools was duct tape. That was so much so, I once bought him a Father's Day card that said something to the effect that if they had had duct tape on the Titanic, they could have fixed the leak before it sank. LOL!

Now, fast-forward to today. I ran to JoAnn's to pick up another photo box and some more ink. While I was in line to check out, I overheard the two ladies in front of me. They were actually talking about the quilt they had made out of duct tape. A quilt?!?

I've heard of duct tape place mats and even duct tape wallets. But a quilt?!? I can't imagine that would be very comfy. What do you think?

So, for what have you used duct tape? Seriously, I'd love to hear your stories. Who knows? I might even reward comments. Hmm. I think I see a file coming to fruition here. LOL!

Happy Scrapping!

O.K. so I agree duct tape is great. My most recent use of duct tape is to tape vinegar soaked cotton on my foot to try and get rid of the wart I have had forever!

Duct tape is a great tool. I keep a clear roll inside my home and my husband has a silver one in the garage. Recently we used it on some tubes with a little hold so we could float the canal. I have to hide my clear roll or everyone would use it and it would be gone.

You made me curious so I had to google it. I found a copy of one here http://teachers.net/gazette/MAY03/classroomphotos.html
What a cute idea for a teacher or even a grandma with a big wall. I could see doing this for a sunday school class even with different stories for the period or different characters for the story you are learning this week. Thanks for making me look!

My DD once made my husband a duct tape wallet for Father's Day. He used it for almost a YEAR! Also, some local high school kids won a $3000 scholarship for their duct tape prom dress. The back actually looked like it had peacock feathers! Her date also won for his duct tape tux. Which I could find some pics to show you.

My son has made wallets, belts, a laptop "case" and lots of other stuff. My favorite was after the new Pope was elected and, for Halloween, he designed his mitre out of duct tape so he could be Pope BeneDUCT.
