“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
I love this quote and it is so very appropriate for me right now. It comes from a plaque my former co-workers gave me at my going away luncheon. I had to quit my job because my husband got a promotion and we are moving across the country from Battle Creek, Michigan to the Tampa, Florida area. We have not found a house there and haven’t sold this one yet.
For the next two months or so, we will be living in a motel. We have decided to home-school our two children since we won’t know where our home will be and the Catholic schools we’ve looked at have waiting lists.
So, while I am giving up quite a lot—a great school for my children, a job I absolutely loved, friends and neighbors I value dearly, a wonderful parish and so many other blessings here in Battle Creek—I know it is time for us to take that first step. I trust that God will take care of us. He always has.
This move does bring a blessing on the staircase I can see: Paperthreads. I will be able to devote a lot more time to my designs, this blog, and my scrapbooks. I look forward to the possibilities and hope you will enjoy the journey with me.
